Jagran correspondent, Shahjahanpur. Shlok Khanna, a resident of the city’s Chowk, has brought honor to his family and school by securing third place in the district. Shlok, a student at SSMV, scored 97.2 percent, securing 486 out of 500 marks. Shlok’s father, Manish Khanna, is a textile merchant, while his mother, Manjusha Khanna, makes and sells handmade goods. Shlok aspires to become an engineer and is currently preparing for a B.Tech degree and competitive exams. He explained that he paid special attention to whatever was taught in school related to his curriculum. He also took the help of online coaching. This enabled him to prepare for his board exams. Shlok says that staying stress-free is essential for success in exams.He advised students taking the CBSE 12th board exams this year to avoid pressure, prepare with a happy mind, and respect their elders. He credited his mother and father for his success.

Jagran correspondent, Shahjahanpur. Satendra, a 38-year-old resident of Madhopur village in Khutar, who had tortured his wife and daughter and driven them from their home, ensnared a 16-year-old minor in his love trap. Six days ago, the accused abducted her from her home. They then married her at a religious site in Gola. He wanted to take her out of the district, but on Thursday, police arrested him at the Jewan Bridge. The minor, found dressed as a bride, was sent to a One Stop Center. The accused has been charged with the POCSO Act and sent to jail.A resident of a village in the area filed an FIR against combine helper Satendra on May 10. He stated that on May 9, Satendra lured his minor daughter and abducted her. When police arrived, the accused’s house was locked. A search has been underway since. The accused was arrested with the minor near the Jewan Bridge on Thursday afternoon. Satendra explained that he was a helper on a combine. About a year ago, he went to work in the girl’s village, where he met her. As they grew closer, they started talking on the mobile phone. After kidnapping her on May 9th, they married at a religious site in the Gola area. To avoid the police, he took her to various locations. The accused had a dispute with his wife three years ago. He argues with other family members on a daily basis. Due to the conflict, the wife lives separately with their only daughter. Sub-Inspector Gaurav Chaudhary said that the accused has been sent to jail. The teenager has been sent to the One Stop Center. Her statement will be recorded on Friday. Her family has been informed. Further decisions will be made at the court level.

Correspondent, Tilhar/Khudaganj (Shahjahanpur).  Shyampal, a resident of Hasnapur village, installed a motor for the convenience of filling water from the hand pump installed in his house, but the same motor proved fatal for his wife Ranna Devi and nephew Vivek Singh. On Friday, while filling water by turning the handle, Ranna’s hand touched the wire of the motor, due to which she got electrocuted and she fell down after struggling. Vivek ran to save her but he too got electrocuted and by the time they were taken to the hospital, both of them died. The team of the Revenue Department also inspected the spot. Shyampal had a motor installed to draw water from the hand pump in his house. Additionally, when the need is less, family members can also draw water by turning the handle. On Friday afternoon, his wife, Ranna Devi, went to draw water and while turning the handle, her hand touched the motor’s wire. She fell to the ground.Seeing her struggling, his nephew Vivek, who was some distance away, ran over. But in his haste, instead of turning off the power, he tried to lift Tai, resulting in an electric shock. Family members immediately cut off the power supply. They removed them from the wire and took them to the hospital, where the doctor declared them dead.Vivek Singh was pursuing an ITI degree. His father, Sonpal, was a laborer. He was the only brother between two sisters. His mother, Neetu Devi, was devastated by his son’s death. The dreams she had hoped for a better future by educating him were shattered in an instant. Ranna Devi’s death left her 16-year-old son, Sachin, without a mother. When administrative officials learned of the deaths of her aunt and nephew, a team from the Revenue Department was dispatched to the scene. A detailed report is being prepared.

A container truck overturned on a national highway in Shahjahanpur, leading to a road accident that disrupted traffic movement for several hours. According to initial reports, the vehicle lost balance and overturned on the roadway, causing a partial blockage of the highway. The driver sustained injuries in the accident and was promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. His condition is reported to be stable. Local police and highway authorities reached the spot soon after receiving information and began efforts to clear the road. Traffic was diverted and slowed down significantly as cranes and recovery vehicles were deployed to remove the overturned container. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, with possibilities including overspeeding, driver fatigue, or poor road conditions. Such incidents highlight the need for cautious driving and strict adherence to traffic rules, especially on busy national highways.
