Jagran correspondent, Shahjahanpur. Two Muslim youths were caught roaming with a Hindu girl in the city’s Town Hall park. Activists from a Hindu organization protested at the scene, alleging they were trying to convert the girl. To teach them a lesson, they first made them stand like a rooster. After this, they were made to do sit-ups by holding their ears. They were then made to touch the girl’s feet and apologize. Videos of this are also circulating on the internet. After this, the Sadar police were called and both were taken to the police station, while the girl was handed over to her relatives.The organization’s workers stated that if such an act is repeated, strict action will be taken. Similar cases have occurred several times in the district. City CO Pankaj Pant stated that the matter will be investigated. If a complaint is received, an FIR will be registered.

An FIR has been registered in Shahjahanpur following allegations that a young woman was molested, blackmailed, and forcibly taken into a car. The complaint states that the accused used threats to intimidate the victim and attempted to coerce her, prompting immediate police action. Police officials have confirmed that an investigation is underway. Efforts are being made to identify and apprehend the आरोपी (accused), collect evidence, and record statements. Authorities have emphasized that strict action will be taken in accordance with the law. Cases involving crimes against women are treated with high priority, and legal provisions provide for stringent punishment if the accused is found guilty.

A public grievance meeting was organized in Karakaur village under Jaitipur, where the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Shahjahanpur directly interacted with local residents. During the session, villagers openly presented their issues, including concerns related to roads, drainage, land disputes, and access to basic services. The SDM patiently listened to each complaint and ensured immediate action on several matters at the spot. Officials from relevant departments were also present, enabling quick coordination and resolution of problems without delay. Such public meetings aim to strengthen grassroots governance by bringing administration closer to the people. They provide a platform for villagers to voice their concerns directly to authorities, ensuring transparency, accountability, and faster redressal of grievances.

The poor condition of the roads in Sidhauli, Shahjahanpur, has been exposed again after Monday morning’s rain. The road leading to Badaban from the Shahjahanpur-Puwaiyan highway has been heavily waterlogged, causing significant traffic problems for commuters. Local residents, including Surjeet, Arvind, Brijesh, Subhash, Ompal, and Sushil, said the road to Baraban has been in a dilapidated condition for a long time. Deep potholes have formed in many places. These potholes are filled with rainwater, making them invisible, making them difficult for drivers to see. Waterlogging is causing particular difficulties for two-wheeler and four-wheeler drivers. Slippery conditions have increased in many areas, posing a risk of accidents.
